Description
Half gallon milk cartons are a low-cost, effective alternative to plastic grow tubes and used to protect young grape during their first seasons of growth. Unlike clear or translucent plastic tubes, milk caronts do not trap intense heat. This prevents the vine from suffering heat stress or forcing weak growth in hot climates. Milk cartons block weed-killer sprays, shield plants from wildlife, and cost significantly less than rigid plastic or double-walled commercial grow tubes. That being said, these cartons will only last one to two season before breaking down.
